Earlier today, Blizzard shared a brace of updates on upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Shadowlands, as well as covenant classes and signature abilities.
The Shadowlands update provides details on testing, with the first batch of alpha invites going out to longtime WoW players, and Blizzard friends and family, along with limited content creators and journalists. If you’re interested in beta, sign up here.
The alpha will include full “level-up experience” in the Bastion zone, plus the dungeon (Necrotic Wake). The new player experience will take you through the Alliance version of the new zone as well. Later in April is set to arrive a few different things,
“We hope to offer the zone of Revendreth, as well as a look at Torghast, Tower of the Damned, our endless dungeon experience. We will continue to unlock content such as zones, dungeons, and endgame questlines when they’re ready for feedback, using template characters as needed to focus testing and feedback on specific parts of the game. Once everything has been released into the test environment, we’ll officially move into a beta phase, wiping all characters and kicking off a larger round of invites for an end-to-end test of the entire Shadowlands experience.”
The Covenants on offer in in the release version of Shadowlands is set to include the Kyrians, Necrolords, Night Fae, and Venthyr. Each Covenant will provide two abilities according to the theme of that covenant. The first ability is a signature ability available to all regardless of class, race, or specialization. The second ability will be class-specific. You can learn more here.
